Christine L. Busby
Senior Manager, Business Operations
Clinical Trials Office
What is your fondest memory from your 25 years working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock?
When I was a brand new employee, walking down the main mall seeing tri-folds of all the 25-year employee celebrations, thinking, "Wow, how can people stay in one place that long?" I also recall the visitors stopping, reading and commenting on the employee contributions and thinking that was really something to be proud of. Now I have achieved that same milestone and feel proud to be part of the D-H family and culture.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by the continuous challenges in my work. Each day presents new opportunities for problem-solving; there is never a dull moment. I often compare our work to a jigsaw puzzle—sometimes it takes a bit to get that piece to fit correctly, but once they all fit together, it is a success to celebrate and appreciate.
What do you like best about your department?
The dedication of my team and other colleagues to bring new, innovative medical treatments to patients. It is my small way of contributing to making the world better with the hope of providing our patients—who are also our family, friends and neighbors—with new approaches and treatment options to challenging medical issues.
How has COVID-19 affected your work?
My team has been working remotely since the beginning of the pandemic. I am an extrovert, so learning how to work and live in the same physical space has been a learning curve. Walks outside and spending extra time with my teenage daughters while they were remote as well, has been very rewarding.
