Nurse Educator - RN, Nursing Education
Though I’m now retired from the military after 31 years in the United States Air Force and the United States Army Reserve, my military service has enabled me to have perseverance and to be more resilient and adaptable. It has given me a great leadership education and wonderful opportunities to lead.
I have had many global health and ‘horizon-broadening’ experiences that have given me a different perspective. I have been able to problem-solve in austere and challenging environments, and it has made me a better, more knowledgeable nurse and a better person overall. The ideals of the warrior ethos easily carry over into my civilian work: patience, courage, faith, loyalty, fidelity, self-command, respect for elders, teamwork, love of comrades and country, and, of course, a good sense of humor.
