Gay Jackson

ROI Specialist, Health Information Services

I served from 1980 through 1993. It was some of the best times of my life. I was proud to serve my country, and I learned to be a strong and independent woman. I gained important knowledge about our country’s military and skills I could apply in my civilian life. I was designated as an Aerographers Mate in the Navy, where my job was to forecast weather and brief pilots on what weather conditions would be like on their flights. In the Army National Guard, my position was a truck driver. I drove 915-A1 Tractor Trailer supply trucks.

I was only 19 when I first joined the service. I learned about the importance of teamwork and a job well done. I developed a strong work ethic, strength and belief in myself as an important part of a bigger picture.
