Jon D. Lurie, MD
What is your fondest memory from your 25 years working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock?
I greatly value the threads of continuity that weave through all the changes that have occurred and keep them bound together. Most of those threads are people who have been here the whole time and continue to pursue their duties with the dedication and commitment that has taught me more about medicine than any book ever could; and some who are no longer with us, but whose memory and spirit still roam the hallways and visit and animate academic conferences.
What about your job inspires you?
The opportunity to work across departments and disciplines, to be able to pursue patient care, medical education and research across a variety of areas, and to be challenged by the new and unknown.
What do you like best about your department?
My colleagues. Their unwavering commitment to providing superb patient care, outstanding medical education and innovative research.
