Leslie G. Powers, RN
Clinical Nurse, Outpatient Service Center, Prep and Recovery
I retired after 34 years in the military, serving 17 years in the Air Force and 17 years in the Army. I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2015-2016 as a Clinical Operations Officer and in Iraq in 2008 as a trauma flight nurse. While in Iraq, I flew over 20 missions transporting wounded military and civilian personnel to a higher echelon of care.
My time in the military has taught me many things, one of the most important is to always push myself to excel in any situation and to continue to learn and gain knowledge. This helps in my civilian job and life. I live the ideals of the military—honor, integrity, teamwork—and take pride in everything I do.
