Leslie G. Powers, RN, BSN
ER trauma nurse, DHMC
I have been in the military since 1983 in both the Air Force and the Army. I am currently a Major in the US Army Nurse Corp, a member of the 405th CSH, and was deployed to Iraq in 2008 as a trauma flight nurse. While in Iraq, I flew over 20 missions transporting wounded military and civilian personnel to a higher echelon of care.
“My time in the military has taught me many things, one of the most important is to always push myself to excel in any situation and to continue to learn and gain knowledge.” This helps in my civilian job and life. I live the ideals of the military: honor, integrity, team work, and take pride in everything I do.
