Marcia A. Procopio, MD
What is your fondest memory from your 25 years working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock?
The operating room was so close-knit that when I had my first baby in 1998, the staff had a beautiful baby shower for us.
What inspires you?
Every day offers unique opportunities to learn, even after practicing anesthesia for 33 years!
What do you like best about your department?
Everyone is so supportive of each other, both in the operating room and in our personal lives.
How has COVID-19 affected your work?
COVID-19 has made it necessary to protect our patients and ourselves, so we are wearing very uncomfortable PPE for many hours each day at work. It is rewarding to see everyone trying so hard to comply with the PPE, which can really put a barrier between providers and patients, and still help patients feel nurtured and safe.
