Maureen M. Ovitt
Telecommunications Call Center, DHMC Telecommunications
What is your fondest memory in your 25 years working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock?
When I first started here as an operator, the residents used to stop down to check in and visit for a bit. They would even bring us homemade goodies. It really gave us a chance to match a face with a voice and connect with them in a way that really helped us feel engaged and part of a larger team.
What about your job inspires you?
Being able to help resolve issues or turn a patient's day around is something that you just cannot put a price tag on. My team also inspires me on a daily basis. The job itself has grown over the years, and their responsibilities are more demanding. And yet, the team continues to provide excellent customer service to our callers and are willing to go that extra mile when needed. The wonderful friendships that I've developed with co-workers and colleagues over the years is also something I will treasure for years to come.
What do you like best about your department?
Working in Telecommunications has taught me about teamwork, and it has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
