Maureen M. Troumbley
Clinical Secretary, Sr.
Patient Service Call Center
What is your fondest memory from your 25 years working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock?
Over the past 25 years, I have had many fond memories but the one that I would choose is working with Mary Evanofski, in automating the old paper on-call system to Amion, a web-based, real-time on-call system.
I had two three-ring binders—a large one with the department schedules and a smaller one for support department schedules. Those binders were considered my "bibles" and "lifelines" to the 70+ departments that we have here at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Mary Evanofski, vice president of Population Health, Primary Care and Psychiatry, knew that there must be a better way of doing on call. Many systems were reviewed and we chose Amion because it was the best program out there at the time. It made the departments responsible for their own schedules and changes, which gave me more time to do other projects. Thank you, Mary, for being my manager and mentor!
What about your job inspires you?
I have had many positions over the past 25 years, and what inspires me most is assisting patients, providers and staff members. I feel that we are a team no matter what, and we should be achieving the best possible outcome in any situation.
What do you like best about your department?
The best thing I like about working in the Patient Service Center is the team dynamics and the ability to share thoughts, opinions and tasks with each other.
