Service in the Navy provided an opportunity to serve my country as my father had done in the U.S. Coast Guard. Serving alongside fellow Navy and Marine Corps men and women, I gained a great deal of perspective on just how diverse and unique people are, as well as the tremendous deeds that can be accomplished by man and machine.
My military service taught me confidence and the ability to encourage others to work toward their goals or dreams.
