Supply Chain Management Technician-2, Inventory and Logistics, DHMC
Serving in the U.S. Navy inspired me to be the kind of person I wanted to be. Growing up in a small town in Vermont, I wasn’t exposed to a lot of diversity. Being part of the Navy changed that. I had the chance to live and work with women and men of all backgrounds and ethnicities. It was an eye-opening experience. I learned to connect with the individuals who I depended on for my life—and they could depend on me.
My military service prepared me to work with anyone, regardless of their background or differences. I learned to always be respectful because you never know what someone else is going through. A smile goes a long way, and you are never too busy to smile in someone's direction. It might be just what they need to go the extra distance.
