Employee Wellness services

Employee Wellness services at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics is comprised of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and the Lifestyle Improvement Program. Its aim is to support and sustain each employee’s health and wellness. Together, we provide free, confidential, individual support, along with group programming and challenges, to meet your intrinsic health and wellness needs and goals.

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers free, confidential, short-term counseling and consultation services for a full range of mental health needs to our Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics employees and their immediate family members. Our staff includes licensed clinical psychologists and clinical mental health counselors. Virtual and after-hour appointments are available.

Lifestyle Improvement Program

The Lifestyle Improvement Program helps you with your personal well-being through a variety of wellness programs and services, including health coaching, education, challenges and local resources. Our programs focus on these key areas of lifestyle management:

  • Exercise and movement
  • Nutrition and healthy eating
  • Stress management
  • Weight management

Other employee health and well-being resources

Art and music

The Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Arts and Humanities Program offers permanent art collections, rotating seasonal exhibitions, public arts projects, arts performances, and live music. There is also access to a number of artistic venues based on your work location.

Employee Express Care

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Employee Express Care services are available to any DHMC or Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics employee, regardless of which health plan you have. When you have a sudden illness, such as cough or cold symptoms or sinus infection, you can be seen in a number of clinic areas with quicker access to providers. This service is billed to your insurance.

Exercise and movement

In addition to offering a variety of health and well-being programs, we offer our employees many ways to enjoy regular exercise. Setting achievable goals for yourself, tracking your activity and progress, and celebrating your successes can help you stay motivated. From onsite fitness rooms and discounted fitness memberships to online exercise programs and local walking paths, we offer opportunities for everyone.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

At Dartmouth Health we realize the value of diversity and we are committed to being an employer of choice in an increasingly diverse and global workplace. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) enable our employees to join communities of shared interest or life experiences, and they promote learning about the experiences, values and traditions of our diverse colleagues.

ERGs are voluntary, employee-led, employer-recognized groups of people who join together based on shared interests or life experiences to create a positive and safe space for friendship and support, personal and professional development, and allyship. ERGs collaborate to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

Occupational Medicine

Our department of Occupational Medicine offers a wide range of services, including immunization management, medical screenings, and workability programs. We also offer physicals and drug screens to external clients.

Parent and caregiver resources

We offer resources, support, and flexibility to employees who are lactating, caring for children, or caring for elders in their lives. Our Aging Resource Center provides information and support to older adults and their families and caregivers. The DHMC Child Care Center has limited availability for regular, short-term, and emergency drop-in child care for children up to age 10. We maintain an up-to-date list of other child care and babysitting resources to help you find assistance in the area.

Women's health resources

The Women's Health Resource Center (WHRC) welcomes women seeking information and education about their health and the health of their loved ones. As a community service, the WHRC is committed to promoting preventive care and respecting women's wisdom in making informed health care decisions.
